Over the Holiday Jay Brandenburger, the super nice man with dreadlocks that walks his dog through our neighborhood every day, had a house fire. His house is completely destroyed. The neighborhood raised $600 to help him purchase a few things. We also offered to help with clean up or paperwork. He is part of our community and I'm glad we could help him out.

Icy beach and a boat gets loose
We had a little bit of a temperature drop for a week and it gave us some beautiful views at the beach. Unfortunately, one of the boats got loose and now it's beached until it's warmer out.

Crazy storm
A crazy powerful storm blew through the area and caused major damage to our neighborhood, North Bluff, Pleasure Shores, Hollywood Beach, Port Herman, and Harbour North, as well as some parts of Middletown. Power was out in our neighborhood for 51 hours. It came through quick and immediately afterwards all neighbors came together to make sure everyone was ok, and to start to work on getting people down the street and cleaned up. People were stuck on Town Point Rd for many hours due to so many downed trees.

Community Bonfires will start again!
We had our first Community Bonfire of the year tonight. The weather was perfect, the company was great, and we got to get rid of some of the wood piled up on the beach. Since Tuesday nights are mosquito spraying nights, we'll be moving the bonfires to EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY night starting at 7:30-but the next one will be Wednesday June 29th-the day following our HOA meeting. Come join some neighbors and relax! Friends and family are welcome.

Renovation House Hop
Kristie & Rich, Pat & Lisa, and Kathy and Rob held a "renovation house hop" so neighbors could see the recent improvements they've made to their homes. Each house had a different item they served (charcuterie, apps, desserts) and lots of neighbors toured through and hung out. We are so lucky to have such fun and gracious neighbors! Here's a small peek of what we saw:
